Ain't Love Grand?

Ain't Love Grand?

LOVE is a powerful thing -- it can make or break your life.
LOVE is an unpredictable thing -- you never know when or where to find it.
LOVE is a complicated thing -- the how's, why's, even the when's often cannot be explained.
LOVE is grand in every way -- especially in consequences.

Which is why the idealism that one can live on love alone remains just that -- an idealism. Because the reality is that love cannot operate on its own.

Love needs trust and respect. Without these, love is merely possession. I love you but don't get out of the house, i don't care if you don't get to do what you want to do.

Love needs time. Without this, how can love be felt? How can it be exchanged? How can it grow? It's one thing to always be busy and then try to make up for it, but it's another if you fail to have time for your love. If you can't make time for love, don't pursue it only to leave it hanging.

Love needs financial backup. Though some people might raise their eyebrows and claim it isn't so, this I believe is the reality. How can one pursue a relationship and eventually build a family without being financially able to do so? Don't they say that when poverty strikes in, love often flies out the window? I'm not saying that love = money. Love, as with everything else, needs maintenance -- whether high or low.

Love is GRAND. It needs a full entourage and an able financial backer.

But it all starts with chemistry and perhaps some destiny too. You don't "plan" to love someone, just as you don't "formulate" chemistry to create the sparks.

It just happens.
